Your Childs journey
Born
Second Birthday
2-year-old funding becomes available if you receive certain benefits. You can check eligibility and apply on the Bucks council website.
Eligible to start in Teatimers Pre-School
We admit children after they turn 2. For a child who has just turned 2, we need to have a conversation about their needs to make sure we can offer the right care – particularly around afternoon naps.
Eligible for 15 or 30 hours funding
15-hour funding, available to all children, starts at the beginning of the term after they turn 3. Where parents qualify, 30-hour funding also becomes available.
Time to apply for a school place
School places have to be applied for via the Bucks CC website. Coming to Teatimers does not give a right of entry into Sandygate school.
School places announced
Fingers crossed for everyone. For most schools, Bucks CC does the allocation and will make the offer of a school place.
Start in Reception and Teatimers out of school
As soon as children start in reception, they can register to use any of our out of school clubs.
Keystage 1 (years 1 &2)
Apply for a place at Junior school (Sandygate & Little Marlow families only)
Sandygate and Little Marlow both finish at the end of year 2. The natural progression is to Holy Trinity but you have to go through the applications process wtih Bucks CC.
Keystage 2 (years 3-6)
Visit and apply for Senior Schools
Open sessions are usually held around this time. Many families do also choose to do these visits in year 5 to help shape their ideas.
Place at Senior school offered
Offers come out from Bucks CC at the same time for all children the County.
End of year 6 and Teatimers
Both a happy and a sad time all round. Some of our leavers will have been with us for 9 years and its a wrench to say goodbye.
Happily, some do come back to do D of E Volunteering with us or even to work for us after school.
