Sandygate & Holy Trinity
Our Clubs
During term time, we run Breakfast club and After school club. We also run a holiday club during school holidays.
Breakfast Club
Breakfast club runs from 7.45 until the start of School. Every child arriving before 8.15 is offered breakfast.
Although it is quite a short session, there is plenty to do. Children are free to choose the activities we set out, or to do their own thing with their peers. Most days, there is free play outside as well.
There will always be a choice of cereals and toast, with fruit juice, milk and water to drink. We like to add some variety with different extras each week such as porridge, scotch pancakes, muffins etc.
At the end of the session, we escort the children to school and ensure they get to the classroom in the same way as all the other children.
After School Club
After school club runs from the end of school until 6pm. We collect the children from their school, bring them back to Teatimers and sign them in.
We provide a home from home environment. We put out a number of activities, but it is the children’s choice whether they engage in these or choose their own. We believe the After school is about childhood – play, friends and the time to choose their own activities. We provide the opportunities, materials and equipment but the children lead in their choice of what to do with them. We step in where needed and play when invited, but try only to lead play when necessary or when the children appreciate it. See below for an overview of the activities and opportunities we can offer.
We serve tea every day. Except in really hot weather, this is always a cooked tea. We have a 6 week menu and we also rotate the dishes round the days.

Activities, toys and clubs
Outdoor activities
We have access to the school playground and also a smaller covered play area so outdoor play is an option in almost all weathers.
Football, ball games and scooters are the most popular activities but we have a range of other equipment, and space for imaginitive play and chat.
Toys and games
We have a huge range of toys and games. Over half these live in the room and are always available. The rest are rotated around to provide interest.
We try to discourage children from bringing toys in (especially small ones) – once mixed in with all ours we can’t always find them again.
Art & Craft
Our children love drawing and creating. Pens, crayons and paper are put out every day. In addition we put out other activities to provide variety. Art and craft is often more about social interaction than the end result.
Homework
Children are welcome to do their homework at Teatimers and we will offer any help we can but we do not offer dedicated homework support or a specific area in which to do it. Occasional homework can be very successful, if the motivation is a trip / event or because they want to work with friends.
